At Tuan Chau International Ship Port – the headquarters of the Tuan Chau Port Sailing Club – on weekends, members, including foreigners from Hanoi and many provinces and cities, come to practice with them. and train new members.
On May 7th, 10 sailboats of the club had the first parade from Tuan Chau Island to Bai Chay beach and vice versa, in response to the activities to welcome the 31st SEA Games. was held on the afternoon of May 14, 2022, on the same street.
Mr. Le Tien Dung (SN 1985) – one of the two founding members of the club – left Ha Long to live with his mother in Malaysia since 3rd grade.
From then until he returned to work in 2008, he was always associated with sailing boats, interacting everywhere because his stepfather – a Malaysian, is managing a famous sailing club in the world, with over 250 sailing ships and thousands of members. Before the COVID-19 epidemic appeared, he often went to Malaysia to participate in sailing races.
In 2020, he and another Ha Long resident decided to build a fleet of sports sailing boats on Ha Long Bay, in which he “contributed” capital with a sailboat brought back from Malaysia.
